Conclusion

Overall I’m very impressed with the SteelSeries 5H v2 Headset. It proves itself to fulfil the purpose of a ‘gaming headset’ with its very clear microphone, top-class comfort and reasonable sound quality. With its sheer comfort, you could quite easily game with this headset for excessive periods of time without fiddling about or removing the 5H v2 altogether.

The only downsides to the SteelSeries 5H v2 is the price (it costs around £60) and the lack of both depth and bass in its sound quality. Even though the latter is personal preference, it would have been nice for SteelSeries to perhaps offer the ability for more. As for the price, there aren’t many gaming headsets of the same standard as this one for £60, so really, it’s definitely worth it.

Bottom Line: The SteelSeries 5H v2 Gaming Headset is the perfect candidate for a ‘gaming headset’ due to its superior comfort, top quality microphone and good audio. However, for it to make a headset for strictly music listening, it’s missing a couple of much-needed features. But as a gaming headset, it does everything it says on the tin!
