As noted in ‘The Package’, both Intel and AMD installations do not require the installation of a back-plate.
The first stage of the installation was to remove the fan. This is not necessary but definitely makes installing the Freezer XTREME simpler. Removing the fan is no problem, just squeeze two tabs and you can slide it out.
Next you will need to install the mounting brackets. These simply screw into the tabs on the cooler’s base.
Then alike the installation of a stock AMD cooler, you simply slot the latches over the clips on the stock retention plate. The Freezer XTREME is then tight and secure.
