Testing and Usage
To test the Dockem, we’re going to be using a 1st Generation iPad with it as we felt that this was a substantial weight to test the Dockem to nearer it’s max capacity.
For the testing, I’ve used the picture hanging strips in my office and the water / heat resistant strips in the bathroom, all tests were carried out for the same time frame and all tests were the same.
At first, the fact that the Dockem says it doesn’t grip your device kind of worried me as I was thinking that it could just fall out at any time, but the system in place is truly remarkable. The brackets have been designed in such a way that even if your device falls forward, it will not fall out of the brackets (even though the Dockem has only been designed with one of the brackets featuring an extra plastic section located on the front at the top of the bracket).
The device can be placed into and removed with little effort yet be kept safe and protected at all times due to the unique engineering of the Dockem.
The whole system can also be freely transported to the other side of the room if you so wish due to the velcro backs of the picture hanging adhesive strips.
The cable tidying feature also works very well and is a great safety feature if you have a long charging cable for your device which could potentially cause an accident if it’s just hanging down onto the floor.
