Installation

The Vizo Master Panel II is designed for 5.25″ bays which shouldn’t be a problem as most computers will have at least one spare drive bay.

I found, to begin with, that it was a lot more difficult to connect the wires up after screwing in the unit so I attached all of the cables before hand and then just slid the unit into place.

There are four screws to secure the Master Panel into place, this makes the installation process very smooth and simple.

After you have connected all of the cables up to your motherboard you are ready to get started.

Testing

A useful feature of the Master Panel is that it has an LED status indicator located on the top right of the unit which tells you whether or not the unit is operational.

The Fan Controllers consist of a little indicator on the control knob to show how much the fans are turned on, this feature works brilliantly and is great if I am going to be gaming or doing something that requires a lot of power and produces lots of heat as I can easily turn the fans up or down.

The Card Reader is also a good feature on the Master Panel II. It requires a driver to be installed before hand though (located on the Card Reader Driver CD which is included). This means that instead of trying to find your camera cable when you want to transfer pictures to your PC, you can just insert the memory card and move them over in a flash.

The included eSATA and 1394 (Firewire) ports allow for lightning fast transfers between various devices for those of you that have abandoned USB.

The Audio connections are a little strange as they are connected to the ports at the back of your computer rather than to the internal headers. This is a strange way of doing it but works and doesn’t really cause a problem to you.

The USB ports are situated below the Card Reader. Some might say that the ports are a little too close to each other so depending on the size of your USB cables you might not be able to fit two in at the same time. My USB cables, however, are normal sized and fit perfectly.
